a dog sits waiting
in the hot midday sun
too faithful to leave
too frightened to run

he???s been there for days now
with nothing to do
but sit by the road
just waiting for you

he can???t understand
why you left him that day
he thought you were stopping
to take him to play

he???s sure you???ll come back
and that???s why he stays
how long can he suffer?
how many more days?

his legs have grown weak
his throat???s parched and dry
he???s sick now from hunger
he falls with a sigh

he lays down his head
and closes his eyes
i wish you could see
how a waiting dog dies

yes bobbye sadly it does

i've no doubt it will only get worse just as it always does as the christmas season approaches ever nearer

therefore it is now more than ever that people need to be vigilant and keep an eye out for neglected or abandoned animals

Oh my gosh, that's terribly sad! I can't imagine anyone doing that to any animal, sadly it does happen though.

I love animals!! Right now I've got 2 cats 1 dog and some fish. I've had 1 cat put to sleep but I got a new one!

i have owend many dogs and loved them all i have never nor will i ever pass a dog (that is still alive) on the road with out helping it! (sad poem!

in my neighborhood (apartments) there are soo many stray cats everybody gives them food and water i do too!! I love animals!

i saw a dog,so we bought him to h=the hospitl becuase he looked very bad,the docter said,if we didnt get him withen THE HOUR he would have died,i was so happy,i still have him and his name is fighter
