I agree with the poem completely ... I never see stray pets near my house because no-one near me would ever buy a pet without wanting to keep it but, when I went shopping last month, I saw a critically ill dog outside the shops and people where just ignoring it and walking by without giving it a second thought. I made sure it got to the local animal shelter though.
Also, I once saw an ill bird (It had also lost a wing when a cat attacked it) that I took to the vets strate away.
I've had 2 dogs before and both where from an addoption center.
R.I.P Benji and Buttons (along with my gerbils (paula and scratch), my sisters dead rabbit, all my tropical fish and all other animals that have died)
