As I lay before another day [Poem I wrote.]

I lie across my haven oblivious to time as it stretches before me. The day turns to night casting a faint glimmer of silver light across my torso. I can nearly hear the earth sigh as though welcoming the time to rest. Brushing my toes against the grass, it bows toward the moon knowing the sun will rise another day. The heartbeats of insects ring in my ears as they scurry home. Looking into the night sky, trying to see beyond the stars I wonder of the marvels we cease to know exist. I thank the being above us all for allowing me to live and take part of another day. My body slowly shuts down knowing the time for peace has arrived. Before I close my eyes I look once more into the night sky hoping I will see it another day.
