The Seven Chairs Part 1
16 years, 8 months & 29 days ago
17th Feb 2008 12:55 I had to write a story for English, here is part of it.
One day, in a small town in England, a young boy and his mother were talking.
???Mum, when was the last time we went to grandfather???s house????
???Oh, it???s been quite a while. We should go over shouldn???t we????
???Yeah! I miss all of his stories.???
???Stories? You never told me he told you stories.???
The boy covered his mouth and was turning around to run to his room. He forgot that he made a promise to his grandfather that he wouldn???t tell a soul about the stories.
???Well, we don???t have anything else to do, so I guess you should get dressed. We???re going to grandfather???s today!??? Yelled mother.
At that moment, Chris ran to his room, went to his closet, and got dressed as fast as he could. As he was getting dressed, he was thinking, ???I wonder what story he will tell this time???? Every time Chris went to his grandfather???s, he told a story. It could be anything from a story of talking animals to his childhood stories. Oh how happy he was! He grabbed his comb and combed his hair quickly, but nice enough so his mom wouldn???t yell at him.
When Chris was getting around, his mother grabbed the phone and called up her father. Chris, of course, was already around and ready, but he didn???t come out for a while because he knew his mother would be on the phone, and he wanted to eavesdrop.
???Oh, nothing good to listen to I suppose,??? Chris said with a great sigh.
Mother hung up the phone and waited for Chris to come out. It only took a few seconds for him to come out. He knew what he had to do without his mom telling him so. Same routine everyday; even if he was going to his grandfather???s.
A little bit later, they arrived at grandfather???s house. The house wasn???t really a house; it was more of a tiny, cozy cottage. Chris saw his grandfather on the porch, rocking in his rocking chair like always. Grandfather didn???t know they were there at first, and then he got up and waited for them to come inside.
Chris ran straight to his grandfather and gave him a hug. As they were hugging, his grandfather asked, ???What story shall I tell today???? Chris thought a moment. ???I want to hear a story nobody has heard. Not mum, or grandmother!???
???Okay. This story is about seven chairs. Each is unique, but very similar, in a way. It all started one day when a man wanted to fulfill his lifelong dream. This dream was to visit all of the seven continents.??? All of a sudden, Grandfather started to have a coughing fit. This happened to Chris before, so he sat back in his chair. He went so far back; the back of the chair broke!
???Great,??? thought Chris.
???Don???t worry, just grab that chair over there,??? grandfather said as he pointed his finger to an old chair Chris had never seen before.
