VERY SAD!!!!!!

My son was 18 years old when he was killed by a drunk driver. He was a good son and a good student. He was a popular boy at school and was on the a,b honor roll several years. He was an out going person and was loved by everyone who knew him, he never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He came from a christian home with good moral values and was taught this his whole life. And as a result of his up bringing he practiced this in his daily life with others. He had a way of making you laugh when you was having a bad day or if you wasn't feeling well. He just knew how to make you feel better, I believe that this was a special gift that God had given to him and this is one of the things that I miss the most.

All of this came to an end early one evening on June 25th, when a drunk driver hit and killed not just my son, but three other people. You see the man that was driving the other car had just left a party earlier that evening. And he was to drunk to drive, in the car with him was his girlfriend and her little brother. He was having a good time and was out for a drive, and I'm sure that he thought that he was ok to drive in his condition much like all of you have thought. But what he didn't know was that he would cause a wreck that would change his life and the lives of all the other's that was involved because of his wrecklessness and poor judgement.

He decided to go hill hopping and drive fast and have even more fun as the evening went on, maybe to impress his girlfriend and her little brother, who really knows why but he did just the same. When he toped that hill at a fast rate of speed. He didn't expect to see that car that was there, and because he was drunk and your senses are impared while drinking. His car came down on my son's car killing him and his friend, and putting the two girls that was in the car with them in the hospital with severe injuries. The man that thought he was so cool and ok to drive in that condition also killed his girlfriend and put her little brother in the hospital as well.

You see every circumstance has a chain reaction, either for good or for bad. The bad in this story is that he caused three needless deaths if he hadn't been drinking and driving that day. My son left a sister that was extemely close to her brother before he was taken away in that instant the wreck occured. He was taking his date home one early sunday evening, minding his own business and going on his way. He was one the innocent victims that day. We all were! If I could say one thing to you today I would say that no parent, or sibling should have to live and go through what we have experienced through this tradegy.

If your going to drink, stay home and off the roads. Because almost always your not the ones hurt or killed the innocent ones are. And that this is something that you will have to live with the rest of your lives. The man that killed my son and the others has to live with his actions every day. There are no take backs when it's done, you can't go back and undo when a person is killed. But you can change you and do things differently then what you have done in the past. You still have time to do better and learn from your mistakes, we all make mistakes and we all can make things better if we do things responsibly. If you are sitting here and thinking that this will never happen to me, well your wrong. Because if you continue on your dangerous journey it can and it will happen to you some where down the road. You can make a difference now before it's too late.

Don't think like this man did that killed my son, he thought that he was ok to drive. But in reality he wasn't. I hold no grudges towards this man that killed my son, but it's only through the grace of God that I can tell you this story and also tell you that I have forgiven him today for the priceless gift that he has taken from my life and my daughter's life. So please before you get out there and drink and drive think about what I have told you today and just don't do it. May God bless you, and be with you.
