The sounds of metal clanging together filled the air as a clash between the waring groups began, the cries of men for allies and enemies alongside it. Sweat dripped down Doren's face as he sliced down the man before him, eyes scanning for the face he knew he'd find in the crowd.
He was sure that they were searching for him, as well. They never were able to resist trading blows with him any chance they got.
'Good,' he thought, 'they'll have less time to kill his allies if they were focused on him.' His eyes continued to scan the crowd, on higher alert than he has ever been. A good chance for him could appear to attack them in this chaotic battlefield, but the same count be said about them.
Slicing the enemies down he moved throughout the soldiers with expert agility, befitting of a man of his rank.
"Found you darling!" A voice sang from behind him. His body instinctually swinging his blade up to block as two long dagger clashed down against it, sparks jumping from the force of the connection. They jumped back, cackling.
"Oh Kornin my beloved, I have missed you so dearly," they cooed, one hand against their face as they looked at him, "If you give up now I will still let you be my pet you know~! Well of course I'll need to punish you for misbehaving but I can train you right up!"
"Geraldine," he said, his lip curling in disgust. "Enough. We end this today. You and your father have done too much damage. The royalty have done nothing but starve and kill the people. You take children and enslave them, you turn demihumans into toys for your disposal. Enough is enough I'm going to kill you with my own hands, here and now."
He lunged forward, punctuating the end of his sentence with a swing of his longsword. His attack was parried, as they attempted to swing their second dirk at his stomach. Dodging out of the way, the two of them began their dance of blades. Both of them were highly skilled fighters, the speed of their strikes hard to follow.
Geraldine was swift, swifter than Kornin had dealt with previously. A cut sliced against his side, his armour partially blocking the hit, but he still felt the pain sharply as the blade made contact with his skin.
They, however, weren't the only one who had gotten stronger. Kornin let one hand go from the longsword, and swung his fist forward, before Geraldine could jump back from their attack, slamming them in the gut and tossing them back 30 feet into soldiers.
They continued to trade blows, wounds and cuts continuing to build up, both of them wearing out. The sound around of them had slowly gotten quieter as the soldiers lost their life the longer the war continued.
Kornin grit his teeth. He needed to kill this man and get to the captain. He could hear a large fight far across the battlefield, worried, just a moment, about if his unit was still alright.
"You shouldn't be thinking about anything but our fight darlings~! That's rude!" Geraldine said as they sliced upwards, catching Kornins hand and wrist, leaving a deep cut.
Kornin cried out, and tightened his grip on his longsword with his remaining good hand. A sharp giggle came from his opponent as they gazed at his pained face with a too large smile, approaching him slowly
"It's too late to beg for your life now, but if you give up I will give you a swift death. How merciful of me don't you agree? I don't know exactly how you'd think we are so cruel when we let your people all die here with swift honourable deaths."
Kornin snarled and lunged towards them again, swinging his longsword towards their right side with his remaining hand.
"Ah you really are amazing you know that? You do want to spend time with me that's great. I'll make sure only I get to play with you for the rest of your life." Geraldine purred as they blocked the swing with one dirk and stabbed the other towards Kornin's side.
Kornin's hand shot out grabbing the dirk by the blade itself with his hurt hand, damaging it further. He grit his teeth and smiled as his wrenched the blade from their hand, before leaping back out of range abandoning his sword.
"I will be no ones play thing."
