Only the accounts that weren't used whatsoever were deleted in order to give people a chance on getting certain usernames however I very much doubt they'd have deleted people who were active awhile back and then took a hiatus. Chances are staff thought there was rule breaking. Your only option to find out would have been email though, unfortunately.
