Poem for a class of mine
10 years, 10 months & 8 days ago
17th Feb 2014 08:35 We were given an assignment, to write a poem, of which we have to read in front of the class. Can anyone read it, rate it, or tell me if I am going to look dumb in front of my college class?
Time Goes By
My leaves stretch towards the sun's bright light,
They droop down as the sun goes away at night,
Up, up, up, my leaves shall go,
Up, up, up, my trunk shall grow,
10, 20, 30, 40, 50,
The years pass by in a jiffy,
60, 70, 80, 90, 100, the years go,
Where I will stop no one knows,
Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall,
I have seen them all,
Time goes by in a flash,
As thunder and lightning clash,
The air turns colder,
My leaves whither,
Down they spiral,
Gathering into a large pile,
My bare branches rattle in the ice cold wind,
But I must get through this bend,
Battered by the wind so fierce and so cold,
Is how my story is told,
But fret not my dear, do not hide,
For with the hope I hold deep inside,
That this storm shall be over soon,
And my leaves will bloom anew,
They too will turn colors and fall,
All of them, big and small,
Many cycles I have seen,
And the Time spent in between,
But that is the one constant in my prime,
Time.
