8th Jun 2011 11:47 Amy's heart was thrumming a furious tattoo against her chest as she ran through the forest, her hair tangled and her clothes filthy and torn. She ducked under a low hanging branch and ran through a puddle of sloppy mud as she ran away from the dreadful sound. It was a loud hissing, with the odd roar interrupting it now and then. She knew who was following her, crashing through the undergrowth as they chased her scent. It was a group of aliens. And they weren't friendly ones. She slowed and spun around, watching the progress of the aliens. The crashes were more distant now, but it got closer with every passing second. Amy held the stitch in her side and panted for a moment. She brushed her messy hair out of her eyes and spun around again. She began to run again and she could feel her heartbeat quickening. She gasped, every breath becoming painful. She kept running though, depsite the throbbing pain in her side. She ran faster than she had ever run in her life, panting and gasping as she did so. After a few moments of frantic running, the hissing and crashing stopped, and the aliens seemed to have given up the chase. Amy smiled triumphantly and skidded to a halt. She plopped herself down on a nearby tree stump, and pulled out the flask of water in her jacket pocket. There was about half left, so she took a quick swig and placed in back into her jacket. She placed her head in her hands, and slowly, her heartbeat returned to normal.
The Doctor had absolutely no idea where he was. He could see everything around him, but he didn't know the location. He was in a large, metal room with lots of surgical equipment and machines surrounding the walls. In the middle was a chair, rather like one you would find at the dentist's, with straps for arms, legs and around the waist. There was a light shining on the chair, and a scalpel lying next to it on a small table. It was glistening in the light, and the Doctor gulped, almost like the knife was threatening him. The Doctor stood up shakily, and a he noticed a door in the corner of the room. He walked cautiously over to it and grabbed the handle. As soon as he made contact with it, a shock ran through his body and he collapsed, moaning, onto the floor. So, he had to stay here, like a prisoner. He crawled back to where he was sat before, well away from the equipment. Just as he got there, the door that had shocked him opened, and a strange, green alien walked in. He had long ridges along his head, and scales covering the part of his face that was visible. The other part was covered by a surgical mask. The Doctor stood up again and held out his hand. He opened his mouth to greet the alien, and his mouth was covered in a wad of material. The Doctor's head spun, and he collapsed, unconcious, onto the floor.
Amy was at the top of a tree. She had recently climbed up it to get a look around, and what she saw frightened her. The forest she had been running through was impossibly large, stretching as far as she could see. She could see the trees swaying slightly as the aliens searched relentlessly for her. They were only human size, but it was a huge group of them. She remembered the Doctor's warning, as they dragged him away. He shouted at her to lock the Tardis, then to run. She obeyed, but ended up on a long pursuit, leaving her disheveled and exhausted. She sighed, and climbed slowly back down the tree trunk. She reached the bottom and dropped onto the floor. She started to jog away from the disturbance in the trees to her far left, heading to her right. She jogged for a while, before coming to a thick area of bushes, which she proceeded to crawl under, her intentions to sleep, despite the danger. She reached a human-sized gap underneath one of the bushes and she sat up in it, drinking a bit of her water. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a half-eaten chocolate bar. She ate a bite, then slipped it back in her pocket. She yawned and pulled a bit of moss from underneath the nearby bush. She laid her head on it and closed her eyes, hoping to drift off to sleep. But the forest betrayed her. The crashes of the aliens, and the sounds of the animals roaming the forest denied her any sleep. She tried plugging her ears, only finding it didn't help. After two hours of restless tossing and turning, attempting to get comfy on the rough, forest floor, she finally drifted into an uneasy sleep.
The Doctor's eyes fluttered open slightly, then closed again. He exhaled deeply and his eyes open fully. What he saw scared him beyond words. The green alien who had knocked him out was coming slowly towards him with the sharp scalpel raised. The Doctor tried to take a step backwards, and he realised he was tied to the chair, which was now upright. His bowtie had been removed, and his shirt unbuttoned, leaving his chest bare. His breathing rate increased and he started to panic. The alien, noticing the Doctor's awakening, faltered in its advance, then continued. The Doctor closed his eyes, and braced himself for the pain of the scalpel to hit him. He couldn't move, escape, fight or anything. He tensed himself, waiting. He took in a deep breath, and he felt the sharp edge of the scalpel press lightly against his skin. He felt it penetrate his skin, pain sliced across his chest. He felt the cold blade slice down his chest, and the blood trickling gently down to his stomach. He whimpered in pain and exhaled, the pain taking over, and he slipped again into unconciousness.
When Amy stirred into the waking world, she felt utterly exausted, despite the fact she'd slept through the night, awaking to the morning chorus. She sat up and stretched her arms in the little space she had. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes and yawned. She blinked a few times to clear her fuzzy vision. She was still inside the gap in the bushes, but it had rained during the night, and her ripped clothes were soaking, making her shiver with cold. She crawled out of the bushes and onto the path she had walked before. She could see the strange, lizard-like footsteps where the aliens had ran past in their hunt for her. It seemed as though they had decided to rely on sight instead of smell. Amy stood up, her wet clothes sticking to her like glue. She shook her head, and water flew away from her hair. She looked left, then right, and decided it was safe enough to explore a little. She walked towards her right and crossed her arms over her chest, shivering. She pulled out the chocolate bar from her pocket, relieved it hadn't melted or been stolen by a creature from the forest. She put the rest of the bar in her mouth and chewed it slowly. She slipped the wrapper back in her pocket and swallowed the chocolate. She pulled her jacket closer around herself and increased her pace to a slight jog. She kept following the winding path until she came to a fork. She turned right again and suddenly felt her feet fly from under her, and the air rushing past her. She was entangled upside down in a net. She looked downwards and found herself staring into the triumphant faces of the aliens.
The Doctor's head was spinning and the pain radiating from his chest down to his legs and up to his neck was unbearable. His breath was coming out in fast little sobs, and every one of them burned his whole body like a raging bush fire. He opened his eyes and realised he was being examined by a group of the green aliens. He also realised he was gagged and lying on a bed, not upright in the chair. The alien who'd operated on him was cleaning out the incision it had made. Every swipe of the pad it was holding made pain slash down the Doctor's abdomen. The Doctor lifted his hand towards the alien, a plea to stop. The alien just stared at him, and continued to work. The Doctor pointed towards the gag binding his mouth closed, and made a ripping motion with his hand. Every movement caused pain to ripple across him in waves of fire. The alien, understanding, slowly removed the gag from across his mouth and placed it on the edge of the Doctor's bed.
"Why are you doing this to me?" he asked , his voice sounding weak and quiet.
The alien reached its hand up and removed the mask from its mouth.
"You are a Timelord, yes?" it asked, surprising the Doctor with the fact she was female, her voice high and peircing.
"So? And that means you don't belong on this planet, if you know about me." he replied quietly.
"We were born here! And we know of you because our past generations were alive when your people were thriving!" she said loudly.
"Okay, okay." the Doctor said slowly."Why have you cut up a Timelord, then?"
"We always dissect new lifeforms. Animals, bugs, anything. You were very interesting." she replied, a hiss ending her comment.
The Doctor thought for a while, then sat up slowly. The aliens around him hissed and crowded him, but he raised his hands in surrender, then lowered them.
"Who are you." the Doctor asked.
"We are the Konran. I am Doctor Samare. What is your name?" she asked him.
"The Doctor. Otherwise known as the oncoming storm." he said.
The Konran surrounding him hissed and and backed away from him.
"Bad reputation?" he asked nervously.
Even Doctor Samare had backed away.
"You destroyed our home planet. Many years ago." she hissed.
"Did I? How?" he asked, utterly bewildered.
"Ever heard of Konaria? It's our homeworld. Legends in our tribe tell of a Doctor. A man who came and destroyed." she said.
"I've never even heard of it. And I'm not a destroyer. I try to save planets, not destroy them." he explained.
"Lies!" Samare growled.
She raised her hand and pressed the wad of material to the wound on his chest, and pain and unconciousness overcame him once more.
