Appearance: Rose was born a wolf; she is naturally in the shape of a wolf. Her coat is black with a sliver hue. Her eyes are a pale slivery blue, the same color of the light of the moon. The pads of her paws are a dark grey.
As a human shape, she usually shapes into a fifteen-year-old girl. Her hair, a silvery black color and her eyes a pale silvery blue. Her human skin is a pale color, as if she had never stepped into the sun before.
Background: Rose had never known her parents. When she woke, she was under a large tree. Its leaves were the same color of the moon. From that moment on that was her home. The tree was hers and she didn't need anything more. Every day she ventured out further and further into the forest. She saw all the different creatures that lived in the forest, and watched the forest thrive. When she would venture into the day, no one would notice her unless they were really looking for her. No one from the world of the sun knew her so she could easily watch and observe.
Her coat of black allowed her to hide in the shadows at night, and she seemed to fade during the day. Rose was the daughter of Mother Moon, so when Father Sun came out she would fade away and become apart of the shadows. It was always fun when she was awake when Father Sun was out. She could hide behind some of the creatures and play little tricks on them. They weren't bad tricks, just her lightly tapping her paw against a shoulder or something and that would be it. It was fun to see them jump when no one was behind them.
After her fifth 'generation' lived, she ended up finding out she could shape shift into different things. She tried shaping as different creatures she had seen and saw. It was harder to shape into things that were bigger than her but it got easier as she practiced. When she ended up mastering nearly every shape she had seen she thought she could do anything, so she tried to make up her own versions of the shapes. She made herself unique, and with each shape she made it was much easier for her to get into the shape. She had much fun.
When the forest began to first die with the humans chopping the trees down Rose noticed immediately and ventured further than she had ever gone before. Her home was near the center of the forest, but her haste made her get to the edge of the forest quicker than she thought. She was amazed to see creatures that were new to her. She had never seen them before. After she saw them, however, cause her home to slowly collapse she ran with a fright back to her tree. All that night and all the next day she was scared to leave. She had no clue that creatures could be horrible.
As Mother Moon and Father Sun danced in the sky she slowly began to try to shape into one of those creatures. They stood on their hind legs and there fur was only on their heads. She practiced constantly under Mother Moons watch; she practiced till she got it correct to where she could hold it. One day, under Father Sun's watch, Rose shaped as one of the creatures and tried to blend in. It was hard to walk, at first, but Rose had gotten the hang of it by the time she made it to the edge of the forest.
Rose's first experience outside of the forest was scary at first but she slowly, over several dances of Mother Moon and Father Sun, she had finally caught enough courage to walk to the walls of the kingdom. She had never made it to the other side of the walls, she didn't have enough courage for that just yet.
The story of Rose's birth: A woman entered a secret clearing within the EverEmerald forest. She had been visiting it for a while now. Always, meet with a abnormally large wolf whom would walk up to her and curl around her back side like a male would with its mate. She would talk to the wolf constantly and enjoy as it would do tricks or try to climb trees to make her smile. The wolf stood in the center of the clearing, it knew before she had gotten there that something was wrong. The woman fell to her knees in front of the beast and wept into her hands. She explained to the beast how her parents were forcing her into marriage and that she would be leaving to a different kingdom to live with her husband.
After what seemed like forever for the young woman, she felt a gentle yet strong hand softly run through her hair soothingly. When she looked up she saw a man kneeling in front of her. His hair was a silvery black. His eyes, a pale slivery blue. His skin, a pale tone. He was a handsome man, and yet he looked familiar to her. Holding his hand out to her, she took it and let him help her to her feet. The man pulled her gently to him and held her softly trembling body as it continued to softly shake from her fear of leaving. After she had finally calmed the man tilted her chin up to him and he softly kissed her lips.
Nine months after that night she stood thinking about that wonderful night within the bars of a tight royal wedding gown. She had been feeling ill all day. Before the ceremony began she felt a sharp pain shoot through her. It was pain she wasn't used to. She excused herself from her maids and hid in her room. She was ill, something wasn't right. Then she felt it, a liquid, something ran down her inner leg. It was weird, but yet, as she felt the liquid running down her leg the pain grew and continued to grow.
As the bells rang, queuing her to go down to the alter, her father stormed into her room and began to yell at her. As he yelled she realized what was happening, it scared her but she couldn't think of why it would be happening to her, at least now of all times. As he walked her out of her room, and continued to talk to her, her hearing became muted. She was numbing herself to her own senses, trying to hide the pain from her father. She had to get out of there, she had to run. Before they turned to head down the hall, leading to the great hall, in which she was to be married in, she broke free from her fathers grasp. Her father's yells and screams only faded into the background as she ran out the open doors of the home she was raised in.
She ran through the kingdom square and out to the forest, people followed her but soon couldn't once they hit the forest wall. She kept running, her dress snagging and tearing on branches and undergrowth. Once she finally made her way to her clearing she looked like a peasant who was born an orphan and lived on the streets. The beast she would talk to was nowhere in site as she dropped to her knees once again and wept. She continued to weep into her hands as the sun began to set. Her body ached from the pain and the weeping, so she slowly lowered the rest of her body to the ground. She laid on her side and curled into a ball as she tried to rock the pain away. She couldn't handle the pain anymore, she wanted it to end.
Her eyes closed as the world around her spun into darkness; quietly she lost consciousness. Out of the shadows near the edge of the clearing a man stood, watching the woman lay in the grass. He released a sigh as he walked to her side and knelt in front of her. His pale skin softly glowed in the moonlight. He ran his hand through the woman's hair, an act he hadn't done in nine months. As he smiled her body quietly heaved with a relaxed sigh as her last breath left her. He leaned down, kissing her forehead before standing. The man raised his eyes to the moon as his hands raised waist height over the woman, palms up.
"I have graced this world with my knowledge and protection for long enough. I have lived thousands of years, through thousands of lifetimes. I pass my life on to the next guardian of our secrets. Mother Moon, guide this child of yours into the world, may she not live within the light of your sight for all eternity. An may she grace the next thousands of generations with knowledge to help guide and protect."
The man looked down at her then walked to the edge of the clearing. It was time for him to leave. All Hounds of the Moon vanished after the next was 'birthed' from the Mother Moon. He reached a hand out towards the woman's body and spoke softly.
"I name the Rose. I name you from the flower of thorns. May roses grow in your wake, and may you make friends who will assist and guide you on your journey."
The ground below the woman's body began to shake as sprouts of trees began to grow around her. The sprouts softly glowed as they grew around her body, slowly raising it as the sprouts grew up towards the sky. The sprouts wrapped around her limbs as the trees began to form and shape. Her body slowly curled into a fetal form as the trees finished its growth. The tree was larger than the surrounding trees; its leaves were light pale blue as the moons light shined on them. The man smiled at the tree as he turned and walked away.
As the sun rose the next day, the trees leaves turned grey. The trunk had a slight imprint where the woman's body had stopped in the growing process. The leaves wouldn't glow till the next day, when a small ball of black fur was found at the base of the tree. When it raised its head, its eyes shown like the light of the moon, and its name was Rose.
