Stanley_Chester is a pet I named after my first dog, Stan. He was always there and willing to join in with whatever my brother and I were doing, he was an incredible pet and I'll always miss him, he may be gone but he'll always live on in the hearts of my parents, brother and myself. He was one in a billion and will never be forgotten, I'll always have memories of him, when he joined me and my brother on our slide - even queuing up for his turn, how he'd sometimes lick my feet after I'd had a bath as if he thought they weren't clean enough, "singing" along with the squeaking of his squeaky toys - if they'd had X Factor back then he'd have won paws down, when he did his "wall of death" around the living room, charging around managing to run horizontally along the wall behind the back of the settee and bounding off the backs of the armchairs, I could list things all day and still have more to write.
He's a skater because skater just seemed to suit him, seems to be the costume that's most like a human child, because thats what Stan was for his life, he was my Dad's best friend, our dog Tom's best friend, a great friend to myself, my brother and our Mam, he was a fantastic guardian of Dad's garage if Dad left him there for five minutes, not even letting those he knew in, then jumping up to say hi to them the second Dad was back, but above all he was part of the family, just like my brother and I, he knew when someone was sad and tried to make them feel better (and was usually better at it than me or my brother lol), anything humans could do, Stan'd prove he could too.
I'll never forget him, nor will my parents or brother, so while he may be gone, he'll never be forgotten and he'll live on in our hearts for our lives, he'll be there with me when I go to university, watching over me, because that's who he was, he was one of us kids, yet he looked after us kids too, same as he'd look after Mam and Dad if he decided they needed it, same as he saved the life of another of our dogs just because she needed someone to tell Dad where she was (after getting lost and being lucky to survive as long as she did).
Wherever he is now, he's got all of us with him in his heart, the same as he's with all of us in ours. We miss you Stan, Stanley, Chester, Chestnut, Stanley Chester to name a few of your names.
R.I.P
You will never be forgotten.
