Lost Friend Parable

17th Nov 2007 12:14 Walking through dark alley's you were at my side. You laughed those shadows that loomed overhead off, so I might not be afraid. Grasping those beautiful hands of yours, that astounding warmth of love radiated from these beautiful hands to mine. I once felt cheerless, but oh how you jolted that gift of mine from its docile slumber. Passing through the valley, I saw that we had come upon a jagged cliff. I let go of your hand and lumbered away to find something. During that time, others came upon you. They acted nice at first, then they started asking for things. You pushed them away, and went to the edge of the cliff. With palpitating eyes, I saw you begin to scoot closer to its horrid edge. You looked back at me, those used to be bright eyes seemed filled with sorrow now. I was gone for that short of time, and something happened. What had I done? Then I saw you jump over the cliff. I felt my own legs run faster than they had ever trod. My hands slapped on the cool granite floor. Screaming down to you, I saw two of my bird friends soaring above. I called to the eagle and she went to get you. You pushed her away I knew, because the eagle came up without you. I then sent my hawk friend who did not prevail. She got no answer from you. There I sprouted wings from my back. I stretched them but did not care to test them. I flew down with my sparrow friend who explained everything to you. I brought you up. I looked into your eyes, hoping to feel your warmth. You turned your back, you walked away. I saw that I rose in the sky. I there in made a cloud which flew over you every day. I send gifts down, gifts of love. But you forget them, push them away. I will always be there, just look up. If you decide to love me again. For what I have done, I do not know.
