An issue we all deal with at one point or another D; being dirt poor.

Sigh, so much to do no time to do it. Here's somthing to do if you have one of those spiffy updated super fast computers xD. Pick a shop and restock. Restocking means that you go and buy items from one of those computer operated thingies. If you're good(fast) you can sell the stuff for more money than you paid. But before buying things do some research. In some cases things in the stores are more expensive than in the usershops tongue.gif I think that the shoe store, hair dye store and clothing store are all good places to restock.

Now if you get bored from sitting on a page pressing the refresh button go play some games. Seriously just go do it. I tend to get bored buut who knows. If you're good you could get 3k from a game. biggrin.gif

Now gaming is probably the first thing you'll have to do before you can restock or do this next thing. Quests. Well some. Honestly, don't do any other than Elger. I mean it tongue.gif The Snowman is a flipping cheepskape bent on ruling the world. JKJK, well except for the cheepskape part xD If you're doing the snowman don't spend anything more than 3-5k in MP.

But back to elger... Why I love it so much? The crystals. They sell from 5-7k alone. Not to mention the MP she gives you along with that. The reason crystals worth doesn't detieriorate has to do with the Gym. People are contantlly training their pets which means buying crystals tongue.gif Great del huh?

For Snowman I said don't speand more than 3-4k. Some would say not to spend the same ammount with Elger. I dissagree. Because of the crystals my philosiphee is to spend a max of 7-10k. Yes, 7-10k. In the long run this makes you more mula because you don't have to wait 45minutes because you think Elger asking for to much.

Now after the RSing and Games and Quests I say to the Plushie Machine... Yah, for 15 (or somthing like that) MP you can get a swing at getting a plushie. Some are rare, and can be sold... for MP, which this lesson is about if you haven't caught on. Yah it's awsome, do it.

Now another thing, collect. Advent calender item over a period of time can sell for a LOT!! (Might take like a year but that's OK ^^wink.gif Just stuff um uin your attic or gallery and let them gater dust. Buy them when they are cheap. Yah. Any Holiday activity go and do it. Now if you find yourself in the semirich range and you son't wanna wait a year for Advent items do AU. If you have 200-500k you can buy a costume. Which once it retires (3-4ish months)can easily go for 1-1.5 mil MP.

To be continued...

User Guide Lesson #3- Trading Pets
15 years, 7 months & 9 days ago
7th Apr 2009 11:07

You may or may not have noticed but Marapets is based heavily upon the trading of pets. You spend most of your time working hard to get your 'dream' pets. Which is actually a lot more fun than it sounds. But for those who aren't rich (like me) and aren't able to buy AUs it's all that much harder. Here are some tips for the rich and poor on climbing up the ladder of pets.

When you go create your pet and are about to name it wait, read this. Pets with bad names lower their tradability by 50%. I'm serious. Name your pet like you'd name your child, or an actual animal. You aren't going to name your baby boy Robert_Love1234324323, right? If the name is taken be creative. Robberrt. Double letters tend to look cool if not over used. (Rroobbeerrtt)

DONT USE NUMBERS, UNDERSLASHES, OR DOUBLENAMES! (RobertLove) CAPITILIZE THE FIRST LETTER Dx

Seriously, you're most likely living in America and Europe or Mexico (or some other cool place xD), here, if you don't already know we capitilize the first letter (and in some cases the third) of a name.

Now that you know how to name a pet how about trading? DON'T GET DISCOURAGED. It takes a while. I know. When you have your first non-LE pet USE THE PORTAL. OK your first attempt may do nother (and the second, and the third) But then, eeeww, you get somthing ugly. Boohoo, go to the 'Pets' forrum more likely than not you've got someone who may (or may not) want it.

Now I've found through my 2+ years of experience when you create a board short and sweet is the best. Rather than listing the things you don't want just say 'Trading All-Offer' People don't feel pressured or like what they have won't work.

When you're offering it's the same prospect. "Fluffy for your pet Bob?" Now if they say no, DEAL WITH IT. Don't constantly pester them. They'll hate your guts, kill your reputation and most likely BLOCK you. BE POLITE. "OK I understand." Wish them luck and LEAVE the board.

In between on the forum go to the gym, train your pets. Tradability INREASES a ton! Go play games, do services if your artistic and draw things for others. Make some friends.

When your trading /your/ pets be on the lookout for pets WITH good names, overoffer or not bad names SUCK Dx (I'm living proof with my chibberz ^^wink.gif

Let's overveiw...

1. Give your pets a good name.
2. Be polite when trading.
3. Short and sweet.
4. Train your pet.
5. FOLLOW GRAMMAR RULES FROM LESSON #1! D;
6. Do your best to trade for pets with good names.

User Guide Lesson #2- Abbreviations & Meanings
15 years, 7 months & 9 days ago
7th Apr 2009 10:54

Now if you read Lesson #1 you may be confused. Abbreviations? You told me not to use those! Dx I said 'excessivly' hun. Now here's and example of a sentence overpopulated by abreviations and other chat speak doom.

"lol i was lke hi & she said are U 4 going to the mall and i was i h8te the mall and she was lke roftl ;P"

EEWWW, now notice I ain't good cause I've never honestly used it xD but that's basically what you'll see. Now here's a sentence that is MUCH better.

"LOL that's an awsome joke! xD I can't beleive he actually said that! I'm like so ROFTL."

Now granted neither are PHd work and won't pass you through English class but the first makes me cringe. I'd like to ass one more things before I give my guid of abreviiations. CAPITILZE. In reality all they are, are the first letter of other words. You capitilize the initials of your name right? Same here.

Nowe some more blabbing. Abbreviations have their place and time 'LOL' is much easier than saying 'laughing out loud' right? The abreviations of doom are mostly the ones that cut out vowels in words though ^^; So here weeee goooooo....

(If you have more to add in either go on ahead and comment)

LOL-laughing out loud
LMAO-laughing my bum off
ROFTL-rolling on the floor laughing
WTF-what the freak
GL-good luck
NTY- no thank you 9when someone says this when you've offered on a trade DO NOT PESTER THEM ABOUT ACCEPTING IT D;&ltwink.gif
BTW-by the way

Marapets lingo...

A/R/B-this is used in trading, when someone is asking if they offer is fair so the letters stand for, 'accept/reject/beat', accept the offer, reject the offer, or you beat the offer.
AU-account upgrades
LE-limited edition (A pet that has to have a potion or enchanted plushie )
non LE-a not limited edition pet that can be created directly by going to 'create a pet'.
MP-marapoints(can get from games and posting and yah, about everything)
BP-Baspinarpoints(points you can get from Baspinar tambola)
RP-restockpoints(points you get from RS and elka tambola)
RS-restocking (buying items from a main shop)
mil-million
1k-1000MP/BP/RP (10k would = 10,000MP/BP/RP)

No there are like tons more that I can't really think of xD

Read this yes, you. New, old, doesn't matter.

But before I share my wisdom and comedy I have a question? (Or a few) Do you /like/ to be yelled at? No, you say? OK here are some tips to avoid that!

USE YOUR KEYBOARD. Sounds simple right? Should be, but ha. Now what I mean by using your keyboard has greatly to do with this thing called 'chat speak'. Mostly used when texting on your PHONE. But here, on your wonderful computer with a keyboard that most likely has keys 1/2'' by 1/2'' that insane language of abreviations is not needed. TYPE. Words (NOT NUMBERS) like 'for', don't need '4' typed, 'to', too', no, don't use '2'. That's stupid. Seriously. Rather than cutting out vowels stick them in. (Cht Spk) Another pet peeve is this 'h8te' rather than 'hate'. Hey you, let's count together, 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4, oh look, both have four letters, use and 'a' not and '8' people Dx

You think this sounds stupid and pointless? Not using your keyboard is just that. Trust me, I've been playing on VPS (Virtual Pet Sites) for over 3 years. Even if you're two days old on the website and you have no clue how to play if you go to the forums and spell words correctly, CAPITILIZE WHEN NEEEEEEEDDDEDD! (Can't stress that enough Dx) and don't use abbreviations /excessivly/ users will flock to help you, rather than thinking of you as some newb with vocabulary issues ready to spam the forum they will think of you as some tender new users asking for help.

So let's tie this lesson in a nutshell...

1. Excessive abreviations = nono...
2. Capitilize the beginning of sentences, names, etc.
3. Don't put numbers in place of letters or words. (This is of course OK if you are actually using a number xD)
4. Punctuation is key, periods and commas are your friend.

Keep on the lookout for Lesson #2 on it's way! happy.gif
