You may have noticed our creator, Mara, appear yesterday. Turning 10 Years Old in 2014 was a huge milestone and it made us all think about the next 10 Years of Marapets. Virtual pet sites are confusing to players who have not played or heard of them before. Whenever a new player joins and we try to answer the question "So what do you actually do on Marapets?" there is never a simple answer. Since then we have been removing pointless features, improving important features and simplifying Marapets for everyone.

This new Marapets Progress feature is a kind of 'ulimate goals' for Marapets. Every player starts at zero and you complete 3 challenges at each level. Every 10 levels will have an item prize and the MP reward at each level increases by 2,500MP. As you progress, you will be taught more about how to play Marapets and learn more about the different worlds, characters and features. The idea is that it will get harder as you progress and new levels will be added all of the time. We hope that one day there will be hundreds of levels!

Your progress level will be shown on a Shield that you can click on every page of the site, just above the Site Search. You can also show off your progress to other players on your profile!

A new Maraween Pumpkin Hunt has just started for 2017. It will last until November 21st. As you browse and play the site as normal, check out every page for a Pumpkin in a box. When you find it, click it and you may get a prize! These prizes are listed below. You may also win a Pastel Costume! The 250 different players who collect the most pumpkins will receive 1,500,000MP and a limited edition Carvey Trading Card. The next 250 will just get a Carvey Trading Card.

Elger has taken the time off from doing quests during this holiday season. Instead, you can visit her with your pet dressed up for Halloween to go Trick or Treating for FREE once every 20 minutes - Insideout and Gothic Pets can visit once every 15 minutes!

All you need to take part is a pet wearing a Halloween, Mad Scientist, Nefarious, Bug, Skeleton, Ghost, Cursed, Witch, Dark, Zombie, Wizard, Voodoo, Phantom, Goblin, Rotten, Midnight, Insideout, Gothic, Eleka, Killer, Headless, Mutant, Mummy, Werewolf, Nightmare, Monster, Poison or Devil costume. These prizes will retire when the Elger Trick or Treat ends November 13th.

The Arinya, Astro, Azul, Basil, Bolimo, Daisy, Dakota, Decadal, Doyle, Echlin, Equilor, Ercuw, Eyru, Fasoro, Gizmo and Gobble can now wear the Insideout Costume. Remember, this costume is currently in Account Upgrades and will retire November 30th.

Back again for 2017 Maraween! The Enpiah Alien was trick or treating in Undying Woods last night and was bitten! Until November 15th, the Halloween Alien has new items that he will put up for Auction for only 1MP. These items will retire at the end of the event. If you are really lucky, you may catch a very rare or retired Halloween item!

The Gothic Costume was first released in November 2005 in Account Upgrades and the costume has been retired and neglected ever since. We have released a new version of the Gothic Account Upgrade with 8 new gothic themed items and either an Gothic coloured Willa or Jessup Enchanted Plushie. This AU will retire November 15th.



The Bolimo, Figaro, Jessup, Nino, Raulf, Speiro, Troit and Willa can now wear the Gothic Costume.

Our first Maraween event has started. The Pot of Gold has been magically transformed into the Pumpkin of Gold. Until November 12th, only Halloween Treats can be donated. You can pick up one item from the Pumpkin of Gold every 10 minutes. New prizes will be donated randomly throughout the day. A certain Halloween devil has been seen lurking around the site again. We all know how much Beelzebub loves Halloween. As usual Beelzebub has all sorts of Halloween goodies to give away to members who are getting into the Halloween spirit and have a halloween-themed character or profile. There are 3 new prizes for 2017 and Beelzebub will also be giving out limited numbers of retired prizes from previous years.



You dont have to have a Halloween costume for your character, just use your imagination and dress your character in some appropriate clothes and makeup to make yourself look appropriately spooky - just be creative!
