A new Quest has been released in Lowlyhood. Drew is fabulous! He lives for fashion and his goal is to turn all players from drab to fab. If you accept his quest, Drew will ask you to come back wearing certain clothing in colours he chooses. If you can do this within the time limit he will reward you with MP. If he is feeling really generous he will also give you a Dress 4 Less Voucher. Drew will exchange them for a pet Transformation. He looks at all of the different colours and species your pet has been in it's lifetime and will change it back in exchange of these vouchers. The rarer the pet or costume, the more vouchers you will need!
Whenever you use a Costume, Potion or Enchanted Plushie or your pet changes (or doesn't change in the case of the new Vortex Park Reservoir) you receive a Transformation history for your pet. Drew quest means that you can now use his voucher to change your pet to any species or colour it has ever been!
This means there will be no more "I accidently portalled my Chibs!" situations. It also makes it easier to take different Photos at the Photo Parlour or change your pet for FREE training or double school/education events! The price of Drew vouchers for each species or costume is subject to change at any time.
Drew has been added to the quests page, your profile counter and Lowlyhood world map.
Can you find the 'Drew' Hidden Avatar?
The Anime Costume was first released in May 2009 in Account Upgrades and the costume has been retired and neglected ever since. We have released a new version of the Anime Account Upgrade with 8 new anime themed items and either an Anime coloured Raulf or Kaala Enchanted Plushie. This AU will retire September 30th.
The Raulf and Kaala can now wear the Anime Costume.
The Anime Arinya, Bolimo, Chibs, Doyle, Fasoro, Ike, Jessup, Kujo, Nino, Osafo, Poera, Tasi, Ushunda, Vixen, Willa and Zoosh have been updated. We hope you like the changes!
The Vortex Park Reservoir has finally been released! The
Vortex Park Reservoir is polluted, dangerous and off limits to most Maradans.
If you complete all 16 pieces of the Vortex Park Reservoir Treasure Map your pets will be able to visit once every 24 hours for FREE.
You can choose one of your pets to take a dip in the reservoir and see what happens. Your pet may gain gym or elite gym stats, school or university stats. Your pet may also gain transformations that will be very useful for the Drew quests or change costume without any risk of your pet changing species!
We are sorry for the delay in releasing this feature, recent site maintenace pushed back a lot of our news updates. The Tornado Account Upgrade will now retire a month later than originally planned.

We would first like to apologise for the past 4-6 weeks of Marapets Maintenance issues. Normally we would keep you all updated but this time we had to keep quiet as we were running on much less server power than normal and making this public, somebody could have used this information to crash us!
Half of the problem was that we purchased all of our current infrastructure at once, 5 years ago. We had 24 different 15KRPM SSCI hard drives and they were failing at one per week!
We had ordered many spares and were replacing them as they failed. The issue was that as one disk failed, more load was transferred to others, making them fail even quicker!
This sometimes resulted in random crashes that took a while to recover.. several crashes in the past month!
We decided to replace all 24 disks with faster SSD drives now which cost a lot to purchase all at once and also took up a lot of time to replace, as we replaced 4 at a time without the site going down.
When we set up our infrastructure 5-6 years ago, we used high performance InfiniBand for our network. This is amazingly fast and worked well for us for many of those years. As the years went by, less and less software and updates were compatible with IB and 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) got much cheaper.
Last month we had 24 hours of maintenance where we switched from InfiniBand to 10GbE. This was a complete success and many players almost instantly noticed how much faster Marapets was running... until the timeouts and appeared! This was mainly down to our older hard drives being replaced and rebuilt in the background.
All of this maintenance has now been completed
Everything *should* now be back to normal and running faster than ever. All of our time has been spent on this maintenance and the next couple of days will be spent fixing any of other errors that we have missed.
We would like to thank you for your patience and normal news updates should now be back!
*fingers and toes crossed*
